Practical PKI

Establishing Electronic Trust is becoming a more important part of the digital landscape than ever before.  This presentation aims to do two things: One is to use allegory and a story like approach to explain what PKI is without the math.  The other seeks to paint a picture of the impact to doing business and where the road looks to be going.

Anchors Astray

We establish trust with people, businesses, and organizations based on relationship experiences. Practically speaking, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is the underlying technology used to provide trust for people and machines online. Just like crime dramas on television and in the movies, bad things happen to those who abuse the trust granted by those who make things happen.  Meanwhile, in the real world, there aren't really any consequences for organizations that fail to live up to the trust that's been extended to them.
