Welcome to Security Endeavors!
This PodCast by @SciaticNerd seeks to shed some light on the field of computer security by talking to the people who do it. We'll explore some of the choices people made, or how they carved out a path of their own as they got their start or have since gotten involved. The goal is to help those interested in better finding their way. Episode 2: IronGeek, Security Conferences, and more
This time we get a chance to catch up with Adrian Crenshaw. Better known as IronGeek, he describes the different types of Security conferences that are prevalent today. Usually behind the scenes, he records and publishes talks from events, at no cost, making these resources available for those who were unable to attend.
Next we'll get a manager's perspective from a recording made at ShmooCon 2015. This interview is offered anonymously, but still provides some great input. Speaking of Security Cons, we'll learn about the Proving Ground program for BSides Las Vegas that pairs potential new speakers with people who can show them the ropes and take some of the sting out of presenting for the first time. If you're new to presenting and have an idea you'd like to share, this is an opportunity to get some help. That's all for Security Endeavors this time. Stay Curious. Episode 1: Alex Berta and Hacker culture
On this first episode we'll meet Alex Berta, who shares about his presentation, "Confessions of a Black Hat Hacker" that he was giving at SkyDogCon, offers some background on Hacker culture and common techniques before telling us how he got his start.
Catch up with him on Twitter as @Critical24 and check out his site at www.GeekRepublic.org. This recording was made at SkyDogCon in October of 2014. |
